Preschool image

Our preschool program is a traditional preschool program with a small group of no more than 10 students. Our group is a mixed age group of 3 and 4 year olds. We focus on learning through play and explore times. By having a small class of no more than 10 children it gives us the opportunity to get to know each individual child and how they learn and play. We can shift focus quickly or implement activities to meet their learning/socializing needs. We offer a 3 day a week (Tues., Wed., and Thurs) program that runs from the week after Labor Day until the week before Memorial Day in May. We follow the Dare County schools calendar for holidays. Our day starts at drop off between 8:30-8:45 and ends at noon. Tuition is $125/month.

For more information or to schedule a visit of our preschool please email Stephanie Phillips at rippreschool@gmail.com

What time does church start?

Church starts at 11:00 A.M. Sunday School takes place at 9:45 A.M.

What should I wear?

You really can wear any clothing you have. Some people wear jeans, others wear shorts, some people get dressed up and others come casual. We want you to come comfortable.

How long is service?

Service is usually about an hour. We’d love it if you stay for coffee, snacks, and fellowship after worship.

What do you have for children?

We have a children’s time during service, and now have a teachers for a children’s lesson during worship. There’s also a rocking chair, and children’s activities in the sanctuary if you want to keep your children in the worship service with you.

What do Presbyterians believe?

Roanoke Island Presbyterian Church is a member of the Presbyterian Church United States of America (P.C. USA.).

Some of the principles articulated by John Calvin are still at the core of Presbyterian beliefs. Among these are the sovereignty of God, the authority of Scripture, justification by grace through faith and the priesthood of all believers. What these tenets mean is that God is the supreme authority throughout the universe. Our knowledge of God and God’s purpose for humanity comes from the Bible, particularly what is revealed in the New Testament through the life of Jesus Christ. Our salvation (justification) through Jesus is God’s generous gift to us and not the result of our own accomplishments. It is everyone’s job — ministers and lay people alike — to share this Good News with the whole world. That is also why the Presbyterian church is governed at all levels by a combination of clergy and laity, men and women alike.
